Muse - Hello There

Hello Everyone!

Time to play cards at Muse ... Jenni, the designer this week, provided us a beautiful card in blue and white for our inspirations.  My card includes the blue and white theme and flowers. A couple colors of blue distress inks were used to create a panel using the smooshing method. Then, the flowers were stamped and die cut from the smooshed ink panel.

Thank you for visiting and commenting ... always appreciate your comments.  Hope you're having a pleasant day.

Muse - fabulous

Greetings everyone!

Playing in the Muse Challenge #211Tracey, the muse designer this week, provided a fun card for our inspirations  ... my card includes rainbow-hued circles, black sentiment, sequins.

The first step on the panel was stamping using Versamark ink and the Scattered Dots background stamp then heat embossing with clear EP. Secondly, a "stencil" was created from different sized circle die-cuts. Then, the "stencil" was used to create the colored circles. A die-cut sentiment painted with a coat of clear WOS and a few clear sequins complete the card.

Wish you a wonderful day.  Thank you for visiting and commenting ... always appreciate your feedback.

LIM - CASology -TPP - Send you Strength

Hi Everyone,

Today, playing in three challenges ...
- Less is More #323 - Curve - curves in the cloud and his little tummy. (I stretched the one-layer definition a little by inlaying the die-cut cloud).
- CASology #244 - Strong - very strong to hold up the cloud!!
- The Paper Players - Color Challenge #339 (sand, mint, purple)

My card is a cute little mouse working so hard to hold up a huge cloud!! There are touches of blue sky showing through on the cloud (may be hard to see in the photo).

TIME OUT - GD - smile

Greetings!

Another card for my GD gig at TIME OUT Challenges ... when it rains, look for rainbows; when it's dark, look for stars.

This card focuses on the colors of the rainbow. I repeatedly stamped the flowers and colored them in rainbow colors using Copic markers. A coordinating custom-colored gem that matches each flower's color provides sparkle. A die-cut/inlaid sentiment completes the card.

Thank you for visiting and commenting ... always appreciate your feedback. Wish you a great day!

Muse - CASology - Hello There - Celebrate

Hello Everyone!

Today, it's two challenges and two cards ... Muse and CASology:

Muse Challenge #209

SonjaK provided a gorgeous card for our inspirations. My rendition for the Muse Challenge includes Kraft, splatter/dot background, blue flower, colors. A painting of clear WOS adds sparkle to the flower. Vellum was adhered behind the Kraft. I liked the way a new stamp made the spots ... although a little too many ... used the panel anyway!!

CASology 242 - Text

The text is a birthday background stamp die-cut as a flower with a 'celebrate' die-cut used as the stem.

Thank you for visiting and commenting ... always appreciate your feedback. Wish you a good day.

TIME OUT - GD - Unwrap a Special Day

Greetings!

So honored to have a GD gig at TIME OUT Challenges. Thank you DT for selecting my card a couple of weeks ago and including me. Our inspiration is the following quote:

'When it rains look for rainbows, when it's dark, look for stars.'

My card focuses on rainbow colors and stars. The candles are inked using dye and distress inks and heat embossed. Each candle represents one of the colors in the rainbow. Instead of using flames I chose to use star-shaped sequins. Each sequin has a gem in the middle that matches its respective candle color. The sentiment is inked and heat embossed in white on a strip of black card stock.

Hope you're having a wonderful day. Thank you for visiting and commenting ... always appreciate your feedback.

Muse - Yay, You! Happy Birthday

Greetings!

Playing cards at Muse Challenge #206 where Anita has provided a stunning card for our inspirations.  For my rendition I chose to use Cone Flowers and colors. I love the hybrid Cone Flowers in the coral shades, so I made the background panel coral using a combination of Distress Inks. The flowers were masked/stamped. Some pink highlights were added to the flower petals and the top of the cone. Black dots were added to the flowers' cones. The black coloring beneath the flowers was done to cover black smudges made during the stamping process. A couple coats of clear WOS were applied to the black area. The card panel was adhered to pink polka dot DP.

Hope your day is wonderful.

TIME OUT - You Were Meant to Shine

Greetings!

Hope you're having a wonderful day.

Time to play at TIME OUT where they are having a 3rd birthday celebration with the theme of Love and/or Friendship with the optional technique twist of spotlight stamping.

For my card I repeatedly masked/stamped a flower using black hybrid ink and chose to color one of the flowers in shades of red. The colored flower area was die-cut using a pierced square die and stacked on three layers of black card stock. To coordinate with the sentiment the flower was painted with a few coats of clear WOS and rhinestone gems were added to the center.

Muse - Hi Friend

Greetings!

Hope you're having a wonderful day!

Today, it's card playing time at Muse Challenge #205Michelle Lupton, the guest designer, provided a beautiful inspirational card.  For my card I included the layout, two-colored sentiment, similar colors and water color aspect.  Also, I was inspired to use a leaf stamp in a way that I may not have thought of doing.

Thank you for visiting and commenting ... always appreciate your feedback.

Marilyn

The steps for creating my card ...
- Blended Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks
- Stamped the leaf repeatedly in white pigment ink and heat embossed with white EP (MISTI was my friend!!)
- Used Copics to add some deeper blues and greens and a touch of yellow
- Spritzed water on craft mat and smooshed panel to create the water color ... this was done about three times
- Die-cut the 'hi' sentiment in Midnight Navy and inlaid
- Stamped the 'friend' sentiment using both colors of Distress Ink
- Attached the panel to Midnight Navy and mounted on white card base
- Added a few silver sequins

Time Out - Life takes us ...

Hello Card Makers,

Such a fun folk-art type inspiration is presented by Time Out Challenge #77 for our creations. For my card I stamped and colored artsy-style houses with Copic markers. The main part of each house was colored using a light blue with bright colors used for the details. The grounding was created using DP in a blue-green shade. The sentiment was stamped on a white cloud die cut and adhered to a light blue cloud die-cut. Clear glaze was applied to the doors and window frames to give them an enamel look.

Hope you're having a wonderful day.  Thank you for visiting and commenting ... always appreciate your feedback.

CAS Watercolour - love

Hello Everyone!

Today, I'm playing cards at the February CAS Water Colour Card Challenge where the focus is 'Love'.

The embossed heart was created using a MFT Hugs and Kisses cutting plate. The 'love' sentiment was die cut from a coral-colored water color panel created by smooshing Distress Inks then applying a quick spritz of gold color shine. A few clear 'diamonds' add a little sparkle to the love theme.

MCV - Addicted - joy

Greetings!

Playing cards at MCV 77 and Addicted to Stamps and More - Holiday.

I was inspired by Chriss' card at MCV.  My rendition includes joy sentiment, colors, use of similar process as background to create 'joy' sentiment. For some dimension the sentiment includes 3 layers of black beneath the top layer.  The sentiment was adhered to matte gold DP that was mounted to dark red card stock.  Because I like shimmer/sparkle on my Christmas cards, I added a couple coats of clear WOS to the sentiment.

Also, this fits with the Holiday theme at Addicted to Stamps and More.

Hope your day is splendid.

Muse - Hugs

Greetings everyone!

This week at Muse Challenge #201 is a clean and graphic card created by Valentyna.  I love everything about her card.

My rendition is a CASE, don't you think!!!  I kind of went out on a creative limb!!

Seriously, I wanted to make a card for one of my grandsons and thought a CAS/grunge style was more suited ... that is what I created.  I was inspired by the clean look, layout, large black inked sentiment. The card has a hint of sparkle on the round shaped elements and some tiny black faceted dots beneath 'hugs.'

Hope you're having a great day.

Muse and NBUS - Congratulations

Greetings!

Hope everyone is having an enjoyable day.

First, a big congrats to Muse for their 200th challenge.  Second, wish Darnell a speedy recovery.

Today, I'm playing cards with Jenni at Muse Challenge #200 and Darnell at her NBUS Challenge #9.

My rendition of Jenni's card is a close CASE using the same stamp set, layout, dotted DP. I changed the colors to the purple/grey palette and stamped the sentiment to follow the curve of the oval frame. For some sparkle the flower was painted with a couple coats of clear WOS.

The NBUS item is the purple/lavender toned brad (with prongs removed) for the flower center.  If my name is drawn, ANY of the prizes will be perfect.
